Get to know me

I’m Sarah Kiersgaard — founder of SophroFocus, wellness consultant, and certified Sophrology practitioner.

I enjoy a lively home life with my husband, our two young boys, and a pair of spirited dogs who keep me on my toes. I’m happiest in the garden (often rescuing plants with mixed success), collecting sea shells, paddle boarding, and soaking up the sea breeze. Our house is rarely quiet — always open to friends, whether for laughter or a moan.

My professional journey began as a Chartered Accountant, followed by a decade practicing law, and later evolved into business consultancy. I’ve spent years helping business owners refine their processes, reimagine their appoaches, and navigate change as their critical friend and sounding board. I still do some consultancy work however, my main focus is now bringing Sophrology and all its gifts to those who can benefit.

Why Sophrology?

Throughout my professional life, I often found myself in the role of confidant — the person people turned to when they needed clarity, calm, or a fresh perspective. It became clear just how many were quietly struggling: with focus, confidence, and the ability to find joy in the everyday.

Then, on a family holiday in France, I stumbled across Sophrology — advertised as a mindfulness course. I was sceptical (mindfulness had never quite clicked for me), but I joined my mum and mother-in-law out of curiosity. The teacher began with, “This is not actually mindfulness…”. Within an hour, I felt a calm I hadn’t known in years. Within a week of returning to the UK, I was researching how to become a Sophrologist. I was hooked...

What drew me in was its simplicity, its accessibility, and its profound impact on me in such a short period of time. Sophrology offered exactly what so many of my clients — and loved ones — had been searching for. Today, I bring that same clarity and calm to others, blending structured guidance with warmth, humour, and a deep respect for each person’s journey.

My mission

I’m on a mission to change the way people approach their wellbeing — from something external and elusive to something deeply personal and practical. Through Sophrology and structured support, I help individuals discover and activate their inner resources, equipping them with tools to meet life’s challenges with control, confidence, and calm.

My vision

I envision a world where wellbeing is taught early, lived daily, and embraced as a strength. A world where children grow up with the ability to self-regulate, concentrate, and energise themselves — not as a late discovery in adulthood, but as a lifelong skill. My work is dedicated to making these tools accessible, empowering, and woven into everyday life for all ages.
