My Sophrology Journey

From solicitor, accountant and business consultant to certified Sophrology practitioner, my path has been shaped by a deep commitment to clarity, ethics, and genuine human wellbeing. SophroFocus grew from my own lived experience - a heartfelt desire to help others discover calm, focus, and emotional resilience amidst the noise of modern life.

Throughout my career, I naturally became the person people turned to when they needed steadiness, perspective, or a moment of calm. I saw how many were quietly struggling with focus, confidence, and the ability to enjoy everyday life.

Then, on a family holiday in France, I stumbled across Sophrology - advertised as a mindfulness course. I was sceptical (mindfulness had never quite clicked for me), but I joined my mum and mother-in-law out of curiosity. The teacher began with, “This is not actually mindfulness…”. Within an hour, I felt a calm I hadn’t known in years. Within a week of returning to the UK, I was researching how to become a Sophrologist. I was hooked...

What drew me in was its simplicity, accessibility, and the profound impact it had on me in such a short period of time. Sophrology offered exactly what so many of my clients - and loved ones - had been searching for. Today, I bring that same clarity and calm to others, blending structured guidance with warmth, humour, and a deep respect for each person’s journey.

Mission and Principles

I believe wellbeing should be:

  • Practical and science-aligned

  • Accessible to all ages and abilities

  • Rooted in ethics and lived experience

  • Delivered with warmth, clarity, and structure

My mission is to shift wellbeing from something external and elusive to something deeply personal and practical. Through Sophrology and structured support, I help individuals discover and activate their inner resources, equipping them with tools to meet life’s challenges with control, confidence, and calm.

I envision a world where wellbeing is taught early, lived daily, and embraced as a strength. A world where children grow up with the ability to self-regulate, concentrate, and energise themselves — not as a late discovery in adulthood, but as a lifelong skill. My work is dedicated to making these tools accessible, empowering, and woven into everyday life for all ages.

Qualifications

I’m Sarah Kiersgaard, and my professional journey has been anything but linear — and that’s exactly what makes it rich and relevant. I began as a chartered accountant, moved into law, then business consultancy, before finding my true calling as a certified Sophrology practitioner. Along the way, I’ve honed skills in strategy, ethics, and safeguarding that deeply inform how I support each person I work with.

This blend of experience means I bring a practical, grounded approach to wellbeing — one that’s rooted in real-world challenges and a genuine understanding of how to navigate change with clarity and calm.

I’m here to help you find your own balance, confidence, and calm, with tools that are accessible and tailored to your life.
